GOVERNING COUNCIL
The Governing Council of Timtally University consists of the following members:
i. The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council
ii. The Vice-Chancellor
iii. The Deputy Vice-Chancellors
iv. One person from the state/Federal Ministry of Education
v. Three persons representing a variety of interests.
vi. Four persons appointed by the Senate from among its members
vii. Two persons appointed by the Congregation from its members
viii. One person appointed by Convocation from among its members
ix. The Registrar (Secretary)
Functions of the Governing Council
The Governing Council of the University is the highest decision-making organ that plans and makes rules. The Council governs the University and superintends over its finances and properties. Specifically the Governing Council has the following responsibilities:
i. Make statutes for the constitution, policy, structure, powers, organization development, financing,, responsibilities and general management of the University;
ii. Acquire landed and other forms of property for the use of the University;
iii. Control and superintend the staff of the University;
iv. Determine the procedure for financing the University;
v. Determine the terms and conditions of appointment of the Vice- Chancellor and other staff of the University;
vi. Appoint, promote and discipline the staff of the University on the advice of appropriate committees;
